Are you an experienced Tooling Design Engineer? Does the idea of working within a growing and thriving business excite you? Then get in touch! Kingston Barnes has an exciting opportunity for a Tooling Design Engineer.

In this role you will be required to design 2D and 3D tooling designs in line with technical and commercial requirements using Inventor and AutoCAD. You will be responsible for the upkeep of all documentation and files relating to the design of tooling systems used in the manufacture of aluminium window and door systems. You need to be highly organised and work with the production team in the development of prototypes in line with company requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Design punch tool and crimping prototype systems and develop existing tooling designs.
  • Monitor tooling assembly builds to ensure quality.
  • Monitor and improve processes.
  • Study work orders, drawings and make controlled alterations to assist with tooling development.
  • Work to set procedures and tolerances.
  • Maintain continuity among colleagues by documenting, reporting and communicating on actions, irregularities and continuing needs.
  • Work and liaise with various departments and external suppliers in the development of tooling systems.

Candidate

A fully trained and experienced design engineer (preferably with experience in punch tool design) or a post‑grad candidate who is qualified, keen and is looking for a company to start their career with. For this role a mechanical engineering qualification is required. Experience with a 3D CAD software.
