Our client is an installer, servicer and repairer of pump equipment mostly used in the waste and water industry. They are looking for a Workshop Support Operative that will be part of a small team responsible for all production activities. The Workshop Support Operative will also support in all ongoing initiatives to increase output, continuous improvements and promote a clean, safe, and hygienic environment.
Role responsibilities:
- Assist in the pressure testing of various pump components in line with production schedule/build requirements.
- Assist in the rigging and derigging of test arrangements including the insertion and removal of pumps.
- Clean down, touch up/paint, and prepare pumps for dispatch following test.
- Assist with general operation activities.
- The use of overhead cranes and forklift trucks to move large and heavy items around the workshop.
- The loading and unloading of vehicles as required.
- General housekeeping/low-level maintenance of all facilities.
- Collection/delivery of smaller parts.
- Delivery of parts from stores to workshop.
- Ensuring all activities/tasks are carried out in line with all company HSQE policies and procedures.
- The completion of other tasks as may be reasonably requested by the company.
- Opportunity to develop into an engineering role or a fitter long term or another route – can get put through.
Requirements:
- Experience working in a similar mechanical assembly environment (desirable).
- Full UK driving license.
- Qualified Overhead Crane User (training will be given if required).
- Qualified Forklift user (training will be given if required).
- Able to work with a minimum of supervision.
- Proactive attitude.
- Willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
- Commitment to health, safety, quality and environmental standards.
- Attention to detail.
- Good verbal communication skills.
Benefits package:
- The role is full-time and permanent, salary range of £26,000 - £30,000 (Depending on experience).
- Working hours: Mon-Thurs 08:15-16:45 and Friday 08:15-13:45.
- Overtime 1.5 x.
- Stayaway allowance.
- Pension: 3% company 5% employee.
- Life assurance 4% annual salary.
