We are looking for a Facilities Handy Person to join a busy on-site facilities team in Yatton. This is a hands-on role supporting the Facilities Supervisor with general maintenance, repairs and site duties.

The Role

You'll be responsible for carrying out day-to-day maintenance and repairs across the site, helping to ensure the building is safe, clean and well maintained.

Key Duties

  • General low-medium level maintenance and repairs
  • Basic plumbing (changing sink traps, unblocking toilets)
  • Painting, minor carpentry and metalwork
  • Using hand and power tools (drills, disc cutters, etc.)
  • Completing PPMs and weekly audits using a CMMS
  • Contractor supervision and control on site
  • Supporting the Facilities Supervisor with ongoing works
  • Assisting with cleaning and other ad-hoc tasks when required
  • Maintaining stock levels

Health & Safety

  • Working safely at all times and following site procedures
  • Carrying out dynamic risk assessments
  • Reporting accidents and near misses
  • Ensuring COSHH and Health & Safety standards are met
  • Occasional work at height (within designated walkways)

About You

  • Hands-on maintenance background
  • Plumbing or carpentry experience (or similar)
  • Comfortable using power tools
  • Physically fit and happy walking around site
  • Flexible, reliable and self-motivated
  • Good communication skills
  • Happy to carry out all aspects of site maintenance

Hours & Pay

  • 37.5 hours per week.
  • £13.12 per hour (after temp or probation + 5% = £13.77 per hour).
  • £26,851.5 after probation or when goes permanent.
  • £86 a month attendance allowance if aren't sick (works out as £1,032 a year).
  • Overtime: Weekdays 1.3x, Saturdays 1.5x, Sundays 2x. Ad-hoc overtime is available.
