Hours: Day Shift (Mon–Thurs 8:00–16:00, Fri 7:00–15:00)
The Role
We are looking for a proactive and hands-on Team Leader to join our Door Department. This role is key to ensuring production targets are met while maintaining a safe, efficient, and high-quality working environment. You will lead a small team while supporting wider team leadership, working closely with the Supervisor to drive performance, improve processes, and develop team capability.
Key Responsibilities
- Health & Safety
- Lead by example in promoting a strong safety culture
- Support the development and communication of safe working procedures and risk assessments
- Monitor team adherence to health & safety standards and PPE usage
- Ensure training is completed and records are maintained
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards
- Report and investigate accidents and near misses promptly
- Support compliance with all health & safety standards and accreditations
- Production
- Ensure work is completed in line with departmental processes and schedules
- Drive the team to achieve production targets and deadlines
- Support daily meetings, including performance and safety briefings
- Assist in improving efficiency, productivity, and workflow
- Ensure machinery is properly maintained
- Monitor stock levels and minimise waste
- Work collaboratively with other departments
- Quality
- Maintain and monitor quality standards across all work
- Ensure all checks and documentation are completed accurately
- Reduce defects and improve overall product standards
- Follow all procedures, risk assessments, and operating standards
- People & Leadership
- Lead, motivate, and develop team members
- Promote a positive, respectful, and inclusive working environment
- Provide coaching and support to improve performance
- Manage team performance, attendance, and conduct
- Support investigations and disciplinary processes where required
- Communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels
About You
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience (or ready to step up)
- Organised with strong attention to detail and paperwork
- Hands-on approach with a willingness to get involved on the shop floor
- Experience in manufacturing/production environments preferred
- Knowledge of adhesives, chemicals, or similar processes is advantageous (not essential)
- Ability to follow and improve processes and procedures
- Strong team player with good communication skills
- Self-motivated, driven, and adaptable
