Kingston Barnes are working with a well-established engineering services provider supporting the recycling and waste sector across the UK. Due to continued growth, they’re looking to bring in a skilled electrical engineer to join their service team.
The Role
This is a hands-on, field-based position where you’ll be responsible for installation, maintenance, and fault finding on a wide range of industrial equipment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Electrical fault finding on control panels, drives, inverters, and 3-phase motors
- Installation and commissioning of plant equipment
- Servicing and maintenance of conveyor systems, baling equipment, sorting machinery, and similar waste equipment
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Managing your own workload and daily schedule
- Working independently and as part of a wider engineering team
- Occasional overnight stays
What We’re Looking For
- Electrical engineering background within manufacturing, industrial, or heavy engineering environments
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Level 3 qualification or above (Apprenticeship, ONC/HNC, or equivalent)
- Mechanical knowledge is beneficial
- Experience in recycling or waste equipment is advantageous (not essential)
- Full UK driving licence
Benefits:
- Up to £44,000
- OTE: £55,000 – £65,000+ (top performers significantly higher)
- Overtime paid at time and a half (Mon–Sat) and double time on Sundays
- Company van (with some personal use)
- Monday–Friday working hours (40-hour week)
- 22 days holiday + bank holidays (increasing with service)
- Pension and standard sick pay
