Then get in touch! Kingston Barnes is recruiting a Senior Quality Engineer for our client in the Bristol area. You will be a key part of the business as a member of the senior leadership team, and you will ensure the Quality assurance activities comply with AS9100 and Customer Requirements.
The Company: Our client specialises in machining complex machined parts for the aerospace industry. They’re an established business in their field and work with market-leading names to assist them with the manufacturing of parts.
The Role:
- Maintain and Improve the Quality Management System
- Lead an internal team of Quality Engineers
- Support new product introduction activities, including inspection plans, control plans, and AS9102 FAIR approval
- Assist with APQP and PPAP activities, including supplier PPAP approval and compliance checks
- Review engineering drawings and specifications to identify quality and manufacturing risks
- Lead root cause investigations and implement corrective actions using 8D, 5 Whys, and Fishbone tools
- Monitor supplier quality performance and carry out supplier audits and development activities
- Maintain quality documents, records, and aerospace traceability requirements
- Prepare quality reports and monitor KPIs including scrap, rework, and yield
About you:
- Proven experience in a Quality role within aerospace or high-integrity engineering
- Strong knowledge of AS9100
- Experience with inspection techniques and tools
- Skilled in problem-solving, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement
- Confident communicator, able to engage customers, auditors, and internal teams
- Experience with managing and developing skilled technical staff
- Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing methods
- Relevant engineering or quality qualification (or equivalent experience)
The hours of work are Monday – Thursday 7:30am – 4pm, and 7:30am – 12:30pm on Friday.
