The Company: Our client is a well-known company based in Tewkesbury with an established reputation in their field. They are a long-standing family business with over 80 years of successful history and they are offering a great opportunity for an HGV 2 driver to join their transport team.

The Opportunity: Operating from their depot in Tewkesbury, you will be working night shifts. You will be delivering dairy products in pallets and cages to customers ranging from smaller independent customers to larger distribution centres. You will be completing a range of 4-20 drops per shift and the areas covered are London, as far North as Manchester, South Wales, and as far West as Haverfordwest. Some drops will be forklifted off for you, while some may require pallet trucks and tail lift offload. The loads are not particularly heavy, but the lorry is refrigerated and the temperature is at +2 degrees. Full training will be provided whether you are newly passed or not; they will show you the routes, how to complete the drops, and what needs to be done to access some of the customers' premises at night.

Shift pattern & times: You will never be required to work a Saturday night. The rota is a rolling shift pattern, so some weeks you will be required to work Friday and Sunday nights, but you will also have weeks where you have these days off. You will always work 5 days per week and you will always have two days off per week. The start times range from 23:00-02:00am and the company will try to get as close to your desired start time.

Pay: £36,519.52 per year + £20 per week bonus providing there is no damage to the vehicle, paid quarterly. Contracted to 48 hours per week. You are paid weekly. Annual OTE - £37,559.52.

  • HGV 2 licence, Digital Tachograph Card, CPC Card
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • The knowledge and initiative to solve basic problems and make routine decisions
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills

Unfortunately, we cannot take anyone with a DR10 on their licence.
