Kingston Barnes are recruiting Class 2 Drivers to work for our client based in Avonmouth in Bristol. The positions are 12 weeks temp to perm which means that for the first 12 weeks you will be employed by Kingston Barnes (we are a recruitment agency) and after 12 weeks the client will offer you a permanent contract directly with them.
The roles are working Monday to Friday and you will be completing around 50 hours per week on average. The start times will be between 4-6am. The hourly pay rate for the first 12 weeks will be £17.00 per hour, the annual salary once on a permanent contract will be £42,500 + overtime + quarterly bonuses.
The client is happy to accept newly qualified drivers and provide you with all the necessary training so if you have just passed your test - this is a great opportunity to start your career as an HGV driver. All drivers will need to complete a driving assessment which will last about 1.5 hours and include the following parts:
- Theory questionnaire
- Drug and alcohol test
- Eyesight check
- Practical drive around the area
Job Role
- Delivering furnishings to customers' homes which will involve heavy lifting
- Completing about 5 deliveries per shift
- Working with another colleague (either another driver or a porter)
- Providing exceptional customer service
Candidate Requirements
- Valid UK Cat C / Class 2 licence with no more than 6 points for minor offences
- Valid CPC and Tacho cards
- Great customer service skills
- Reliability and trustworthiness
- Physical fitness
- Own transport to get to the client site for 4-6am starts
- Willingness to work with another colleague
