A Bristol based company (BS10) that works within the Transport, Recycling, Aggregate and Stone supplies industry, are offering a very competitive and exciting opportunity for an experienced Transport Manager to join their expanding and progressive team. The company has over 50 years experience within the industry and specialise in the four sectors above.
The Opportunity:
The ideal candidate will assist the Logistics and Operations Director in the daily planning and routing of our fleet of tippers to serve our customers delivering and collecting material from sites across the southwest. My client is offering an excellent package for the right person, with a £40k salary, a company vehicle and membership to our employee benefits scheme. This role would be well suited to individuals with a background/keen interest in Planning, Logistics or Transport Planning who are flexible, organised and used to working in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in management and utilisation of the haulage fleet including subcontractors
- Key point of contact for driving team and sub-contractors
- Planning of the routes for all vehicles, focusing on cost and efficiency, contacting customers and organising timings
- Provide drivers with important routing information and site-specific instructions
- Re-routing drivers as and when required quickly and efficiently
- Track drivers progress and update client when required or requested
- Monitor road network issues and advise drivers accordingly
- Provide information between the operations, yard regarding incoming and outgoing material and workshop regarding necessary repairs
- Assist with accident investigation and reporting
- Process all administrative duties efficiently and accurately using their software (training to be provided)
- Ad hoc duties as and when required
The Package:
- Hours of work: 6.30am - 5.00pm, 1 hour lunch break
- Salary: £40k per annum
- 21 days holiday plus bank holidays
