Our client is a national distribution company based in Hallen looking for an Operations Team Leader to join their well-established site. This role will be supporting the Operations Manager to lead a team and contribute towards the success of the site.
Overview of core responsibilities:
- Leading a team to deliver a successful pick and load operation by working alongside them (80% on shop floor) and leading by example
- Supporting/conducting daily team briefs
- Promoting safe systems of work with the team with a safety-first mindset
- Inspecting, checking and maintaining all warehouse plant and equipment
- Managing and conducting daily/weekly stock checks
- Ensuring quality is incorporated into all aspects of your role across pick/despatch/transfers/internal/external deliveries
- Liaising with external contacts if required as per the needs of the business e.g. external hauliers and agencies
- Maximising loads in line with business KPIs while maintaining load weight safety
What is needed from the right candidate:
- Forklift licence
- Good understanding of computer/transport management systems with a willingness to learn
- Flexibility to work overtime in busy periods
