Kingston Barnes are recruiting a senior manufacturing engineer for a client of ours in the Bristol area.

The Role:

As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in the development and launch of new components into production and managing the product development process. You will work closely with CNC programmers, production staff, and suppliers to ensure processes are reliable, efficient, and cost-effective.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the NPI process
  • Identify areas of improvement and mitigate risks during the product development process, including potential issues with the manufacturing process
  • Develop and improve current manufacturing processes
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including process maps, routings, and work instructions
  • Provide technical support to other departments when required
  • Deputise for the Engineering Manager when required

About you:

  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials, and components in the aerospace industry
  • Strong background in Milling/Turning NPI Management with knowledge of APQP
  • Experience with quality management systems including ISO9001 and AS9100
  • Experience with process design, optimization, and improvement
  • Strong understanding of FMEA methodologies
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems
  • Familiar with 5S and lean principles with the ability to apply them in a manufacturing setting

Benefits:

  • Salary up to £55,000
  • 37-hour week: Monday-Thursday 07:30-16:00, Friday 07:30-12:30
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays
