Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineer with proven experience leading engineering projects? Kingston Barnes are recruiting for a Mechanical Project Engineer to join a major manufacturing operation in the Lydney area. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a high-performing maintenance function and play a pivotal role in site engineering performance.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading mechanical engineering projects from development through to delivery, working closely with key site stakeholders to ensure projects are effectively planned and executed. The role will also involve supporting the Project Manager with site-wide projects, including budget management and control. The successful candidate will be expected to manage assigned projects safely and effectively, demonstrate the ability to lead projects with a sense of urgency when required to meet critical deadlines, and take ownership of project delivery and performance. The role will also include undertaking Duty Engineer responsibilities during designated weekend periods, approximately one weekend in ten.

About You

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree, HND or HNC (or equivalent).
  • 5+ years experience in a technical or engineering role within a continuous process, manufacturing or heavy engineering environment.
  • Strong technical understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
  • Ability to drive projects forward.
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and safe working practices.
  • Project Management skills.
  • Managing teams such as contractors.
