Mechanical & Electrical Field Service Fitter Castleford | up to Β£40,000 + Company Van | Permanent We are recruiting for a Mechanical & Electrical Field Service Fitter to join an established engineering business specialising in industrial pumps and rotating equipment . This is a hands-on role split between workshop and field service , covering the inspection, refurbishment, repair, assembly and testing of pump equipment. Typically 40% workshop / 60% field-based , increasing to 7080% field work during busier periods. On a field service basis you will be covering the North patch of England. Key Responsibilities Dismantling, inspecting, repairing and rebuilding pump equipment Mechanical and electrical inspection, testing and fault finding Repair and maintenance of diesel engine-driven pump sets Measuring components and identifying required spare parts from drawings Completing inspection reports and technical documentation Assembly and testing of pumps and associated equipment Carrying out field service work at customer sites Collecting and delivering equipment when required Maintaining high standards of quality and health & safety About You Mechanical or Electrical Apprenticeship, relevant qualification or time-served experience Experience with pumps, rotating equipment and/or diesel pump sets Experience with electric motors and control equipment Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills Able to read and understand engineering drawings Full UK driving licence Hands-on, proactive and able to work independently Flexible approach with good problem-solving skills Centrifugal pump experience is highly beneficial. The following are desirable but not essential: CSCS, Confined Space, Overhead Crane/Lifting & Slinging, Water Hygiene, ATEX or Forklift licences.
