Kingston Barnes are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager on behalf of our client to take ownership of their fuel supply and commercial contracts within a regulated, operationally critical environment. This role plays a key part in ensuring contractual compliance, commercial optimisation, and continuity of supply, while working closely with operational teams and external stakeholders. This is a commercially focused position suited to someone with strong contract management, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage fuel supply contracts across local authority, commercial, industrial, and merchant inputs.
- Ensure all contractual, legal, safety, environmental, and quality obligations are met.
- Maintain and develop the contract risk register, ensuring legislative and policy compliance.
- Drive continuous improvement in contract performance through monitoring and action planning.
- Liaise with site operations to ensure fuel volumes meet operational requirements.
- Work closely with suppliers, hauliers, and internal teams to ensure fuel quality and compliance with site rules.
- Develop and manage contingency plans for fuel supply during planned and unplanned outages.
- Source fuel on optimal commercial terms, meeting price, volume, and quality targets.
- Support financial management including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L reporting.
About you
- Proven experience in commercial contract management and negotiation.
- Strong knowledge of managing complex contracts and performance frameworks.
- Experience managing client and supplier relationships.
- Good financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L reporting.
- Ability to manage risk, compliance, and operational priorities simultaneously.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
