A fast-growing manufacturing business with strong expansion plans is seeking a Multiskilled Shift Engineer to join its engineering team. You will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving a wide range of production equipment across a shift-based operation. The role requires strong electrical and mechanical skills to ensure maximum uptime, reliability, and efficiency of machinery. You will play a key part in reducing downtime, supporting production, and driving continuous improvement across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned, predictive, and reactive maintenance (PPM)
- Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults
- Respond quickly to breakdowns and production issues
- Carry out equipment inspections to ensure safe and compliant operation
- Support installation and commissioning of new equipment
- Keep accurate maintenance records and documentation
- Contribute to continuous improvement and reliability projects
- Work in line with health & safety and site procedures
About You
- Experience in a manufacturing, FMCG, or industrial engineering environment
- Strong electrical and mechanical skills (including PLCs, hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, sensors, conveyors)
- Engineering qualification (HNC/HND, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
- Confident fault-finder with strong problem-solving ability
- Able to manage workload and priorities effectively
- Good communication skills and team collaboration
Salary
Up to £61,500
Shift Pattern
12-hour shifts: 2 days, 2 nights, followed by 4 rest days
