The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of a comprehensive Digital Technology architecture and solutions across technology and data, including enterprise architecture, innovation management, and data integrity. The CTO supports wider innovation efforts throughout the Trust and its partners. This role includes planning, scheduling, reporting, risk management, benefits realisation, assurance, budget management, and maintaining quality standards. The postholder maintains currency on new technologies, approaches, and platforms, providing direction on emerging technologies to ensure digital and data capabilities align with the Trust\’s strategy and regional obligations. The CTO manages the department responsible for on-premise and cloud-based compute and storage, networks, integrations, and data storage, along with related development activities. The team comprises knowledgeable, responsive digital technology professionals supporting service delivery and new initiatives in collaboration with Digital Operations and Digital Transformation teams. The CTO also manages technical and solutions engineers ensuring services are available, resilient, secure, and meet SLAs, OLAs, and KPIs. Solutions Leadership for Digital, Data, and Technology Provide digital solutions leadership to the DDAT Department and offer expert advice on healthcare digital solutions to the Trust. Assist in developing and executing a DDAT strategy impacting the entire organisation to ensure the Trust has the right systems to deliver effective patient care. Ensure national digital priorities and initiatives are reflected in local service development plans. Present to senior groups as needed to maintain high visibility of DDAT issues, including complex or sensitive information that may be contentious or challenging. Promote the value of effective DDAT throughout the Trust. Provide professional leadership for the wider digital community within the Trust and across all digital technology aspects. Offer expert advice and guidance to managers, health professionals, and others on technology-related issues. Act as the Senior Responsible Officer for the technical aspects of digital transformation and development projects supporting the DDaT Board.
