We are now seeking a Material Planner to join our Procurement team at our Portadown site, playing a vital role in keeping our operations moving efficiently and responsibly. This position is critical to ensuring a seamless flow of materials across our sites, enabling production to perform at its best while supporting our commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Procurement (GB&I), you will take ownership of material planning and supplier coordination, ensuring the right materials are available at the right time. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners, helping to maintain strong supplier performance and uninterrupted production.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Planning, purchasing, and expediting materials to ensure zero production disruption
- Managing purchase orders and material flow through the Infor LN system
- Building trusted relationships with suppliers and monitoring OTIF performance
- Proactively identifying and escalating supply risks that could impact production
- Managing inventory exceptions and supporting changing production requirements
- Supporting engineering changes by analysing stock and managing supplier cut-in points
- Balancing stock availability with efficient inventory levels in line with business targets
- Maintaining accurate price books and ensuring purchasing compliance
- Supporting supplier quality, compliance, and performance standards
- Collaborating closely with Production, Finance, and Engineering teams
- Contributing to continuous improvement and standardisation initiatives
- Adapting effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Assistance with compliance
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in material planning, procurement, or supply chain, ideally within manufacturing
- Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- Confident communicator with the ability to build productive working relationships
- Experience using MRP/ERP systems (Infor LN an advantage, not essential)
- A proactive mindset with strong attention to detail
- A team-oriented approach aligned with Kingspan values
