We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated individual to join our team at our Aston Clinton site. Reporting to the Operations Manager with a dotted line to the Head of Maintenance, the role involves maintaining machinery, performing site and preventative maintenance, ensuring machine safety, managing implementation of Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) projects on site and continuous improvement/automation projects. It requires a multi-skilled individual who can manage a team, follow procedures and uphold high quality standards, supporting the company's market growth.
About the Role
- Routine Maintenance: Performing scheduled inspections and maintenance tasks on equipment and systems.
- Breakdown Repairs: Diagnosing and repairing equipment faults, including replacing parts.
- Preventive Maintenance: Developing and implementing preventative maintenance programs to minimise downtime and extend equipment life.
- Spare Parts and Inventory Management: Monitor critical spare parts inventory maintaining optimal stock levels.
- Equipment Installation & Commissioning: Assist with installation, alignment and commissioning of new machinery or production lines.
- Site Development Projects: Set a Capex plan for the site and ensure its delivered at an optimum cost, best delivery and best fit to Kingspan.
- Continuous Improvement Projects: Lead maintenance and refurbishment projects, coordinating and supervising external contractors and tradespeople. Look at ways of introducing automation into the manufacturing process to streamline production.
- Budgeting & Cost Control: Help prepare annual maintenance budgets by estimating costs for future works, parts consumption, and outsourcing needs.
- Problem Solving: Identifying and addressing equipment issues, often requiring technical expertise, and troubleshooting skills.
- Documentation: Maintaining records of maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, calibration, and spare parts.
- Quality Assurance: Ensuring that equipment meets quality standards and safety requirements.
- Safety: Ensuring a safe working environment for themselves and others and conduct regular safety inspections (lock out/tag out, guarding checks) and participate in incident investigations.
- Training: Partake in continuous improvement activities and may be responsible for training others in maintenance procedures.
- Sustainability & Energy Efficiency: Support the company's green initiatives by maintaining and optimising energy systems (e.g. solar panels, compressed air systems); identify and implement strategies to reduce energy consumption, waste and environmental impact.
Uphold the highest possible standards of health, safety, environmental, quality and product compliance is an integral part of the business and our requirements and procedures. Carry out any other reasonable tasks which may be deemed necessary by Operations Management.
What We're Looking For
- Essential: Mechanical or Electrical qualification. Time served in a relevant engineering discipline with a minimum of 5 years' experience in a maintenance manufacturing position. Root cause analysis and continuous improvement tools. Strong knowledge of PLCs, automation, and energy-efficient technologies. Practical problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. To be able to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Desirable: Degree in science or engineering. Safety protocols such as LOTO, permit-to-work, etc. Experience with predictive maintenance programs and energy efficiency initiatives.
