Join our Pembridge team in Herefordshire as our Materials Control Supervisor, where you’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth and compliant sourcing of materials and services that underpin our production operations. You’ll drive the delivery of high‑quality outputs at the best possible cost, meeting customer demands while consistently upholding our company values. In this hands‑on leadership role, you will also oversee the day‑to‑day planning, coordination, and performance of the procurement team - ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and strong alignment with business needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee material planning by reviewing MRP, managing inventory levels, and ensuring continuity of supply, using SAP and spreadsheets where required.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing data, including updating pricing, managing purchasing documents, and resolving supplier invoice discrepancies.
  • Coordinate inbound logistics by liaising with freight forwarders, managing customs clearance, tracking shipping schedules, and scheduling deliveries to minimise costs.
  • Create and maintain inbound delivery visibility in SAP to support accurate receipting and communication with Logistics.
  • Build strong supplier and internal department relationships, attending meetings as needed and providing monthly rolling material forecasts.
  • Support quality and procurement processes by managing non‑conformances, monitoring slow‑moving or obsolete stock, and approving CMS and vendor updates.
  • Ensure smooth delivery of business change projects by following CMEX procedures and minimising operational disruption.
  • Lead and support the Procurement team, including workload management, team meetings, performance reviews, holiday approval, and T&A system oversight.
  • Management and monthly submissions of the company credit card purchases.
  • Ensure all procurement activities comply with relevant ISO standards.
  • Work to strict working capital targets, ensuring stock levels, replenishment schedules and purchasing decisions support site cashflow and inventory objectives.

What we are looking for:

  • Proven experience in Materials control and MRP within a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of sourcing, contract negotiation and supplier management.
  • Understanding of the legal and compliance requirements in procurement.
  • Experience in handling imports and exports.
  • Proven people management skills with the ability to motivate and build a strong team.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to utilise excel.
  • Possession of key competencies, including conflict management, business negotiation, organisation and decision-making.
  • Full driving license.

Whilst not essential, the following would be of benefit:

  • Experience of SAP.
