We have an exciting opportunity for a Logistics Team Leader to join our team in Selby, Yorkshire, working 39 hours per week on a permanent contract.

Rotational Shifts:

  • Monday to Thursday 05.45 to 14.00
  • Friday 05.45 to 13.00
  • Monday to Thursday 13.45 to 22.00
  • Friday 11.45 to 19.00

As a Logistics Team Leader, you will be involved with the responsibility for overseeing the day-to-day running of the Logistics Department and associated tasks, from inbound deliveries to finished product out. You will be pro-active in coordinating activities associated with the Logistics department and be fundamental in maintaining and improving upon; on time in full, damages & KPIs.

Responsibilities of our Logistics Team Leader:

  • Complete understanding of product quality critical characteristics and standards.
  • Effective understanding and application of in-process and final product specifications.
  • Troubleshoot & implement or provide solutions to machinery/processing issues that might impact product quality.
  • Managing/performing the day-to-day operation of the department by maximizing fleet utilization and output, and minimizing losses including damages, shortages, stock discrepancies.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Company Health & Safety, Environmental, Energy, Compliance & Continuous Improvement management systems.
  • Ensuring that processes deliver their intended outcomes by monitoring: KMIs, KAIs, KPIs.
  • Monitor output and adjust loading schedules within scope of role to maintain productivity and quality standards.
  • Carry out daily warehouse safety checks.
  • Fully trained and be able to operate FLTs and attachments to the required standards.
  • Manage the loading schedule in preparation for Logistics operations.
  • Supporting the department Manager by supervising, training, developing and managing the team.
  • Support and promote effective communication within the team: one-to-one feedback, production reports, deliver team briefings, daily logistics reports and attendance at the control room, and shift handover briefings.
  • Responsible for monitoring personal performance and following a program of personal development.
  • Ensuring performance is achieved and maintained through the training & development of team members.

What we are looking for in our Logistics Team Leader:

  • Accredited lift truck training (FLT Licence).
  • A professional qualification within the health & safety field (IOSH managing safely or equivalent).
  • Previous experience working in a factory/warehouse environment.
  • Able to follow instruction and loading schedules.
  • Flexible and willing to be trained in multiple areas whatever department and area this may be.
  • Basic understanding of touch screen technology.
  • Experience of working with various IT programs i.e. MS Word, Excel.
  • A good working knowledge of SAP.
  • Be a good team player with a “can do attitude”.
  • Management experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to act quickly when problems arise.

Whilst not essential, the following would be of benefit:

  • A professional qualification within the supervisory or management field (ILM Level 3 or equivalent).
  • Full driving license.
  • A Combi lift licence would be advantageous.
