We are looking for a Costing and Stock Accountant based at our Pembridge site working 39 hours per week Monday β Friday.
To have responsibility of ensuring the accuracy of all facets of inventory across 3 Kingspan UK sites, Pembridge, Selby and Basildon, and provide weekly and monthly management reporting on inventory accuracy. You will undertake a range of tasks including (but not exclusive to): Production Reporting and Information Collecting, Journal Posting, Monthly Reconciliations, Standard Costing and Bills of Materials, Accruals and also assisting with any other month end procedures.
Main Duties & Responsibilities for Costing and Stock Accountant role
Weekly, Monthly and Annual Reporting
- Travel to and perform monthly PI Audit checks for each site, on each area of inventory including Finished Goods, Spare Parts and Raw Materials where possible. Spot check a diverse sample of inventory at each site visit ranging in value, quantities, areas and bins. Ensuring the accuracy of inventory to the SAP system, and the level of adherence to the inventory procedure β trying to achieve a minimum accuracy of 98%.
- Perform an analysis of the current procedure for inventory counting with the following aims; maintain a standardised process across all sites and improve the reporting, approval processes and monitor areas of responsibility where necessary/appropriate.
- Reviewing and maintaining the maintenance spare part software, PEMAC, ensuring the maintenance department are conducting regular stock takes and providing for the spare part stock using the guidelines set out in the group accounting manual.
- Maintain and improve month end reporting, to include provisions, aged stock report, trackers, and presentation slides.
Inventory Month End Reporting
- Responsible for assessing slow moving obsolete inventory and taking corrective actions to minimise the cost of obsolete inventory to KIL UK. This will include taking an active role in the monthly obsolescence meeting between relevant departments to review the items falling into the obsolete category, and scrutinise why certain items fall into this category.
- Review the S graded blocked inventory on a monthly basis at each of the 4 sites mentioned above and liaise with the quality department on items not being reviewed in a timely manner. Provisions will need to be provided for any items that could potentially be sub-standard.
- Conduct Inventory checks on a sample of Obsolete and Blocked status items at each manufacturing site. Review the SAP inventory movements, including scrap reason code 11, and ensure the actions from each meeting are followed up.
- Produce a more in-depth report on aging categories for blocked status items and provide KIL Financial Controller a summary of all of the inventory blocked and falling into obsolete, with a detailed analysis.
- Provide purchase price revaluation analysis each month and inform the Finance Controller the impact of the revaluation on the statement of profit or loss.
- Produce overhead and energy absorption calculations based on the manufacturing performance for the month.
Costing Analysis
- Prepare costing analysis in response to queries from Sales / Finance / Production / Technical etc. to confirm accuracy of standard costs.
- Involvement in the production process in finance for all UK KIL sites; including creating trial bill of materials, costing trial raw materials, month end reporting to the business and ensure all sites follow the correct and agreed process for trials.
- Setting up bills of materials and performing material master amendments whilst continuing to update and review the standard costings for multiple sites. This will include managing our Change Management system and ensure all sites follow the correct and agreed processes.
- Perform weekly and monthly variance analysis on all facets of the production process, mainly but not limited to material and labour variances.
General
- Ensuring compliance with the Kingspan Group accounting manual.
- Build trusted relationships with key personal across the business operations.
- Provide support to the Costing & Stock Manager as and when required in relation to the requirements of the role.
