About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Sales Specialist to join our busy team. This is a dynamic, customer-facing role that will give you the chance to make a real impact on project success and sales performance. You’ll be involved in the journey, from interpreting architectural drawings (with a view to include generating quick win accurate quotations), through to providing technical guidance and converting opportunities into orders. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working at pace, thrives on hitting targets, and has a strong understanding of construction products.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide technical advice on product applications, specifications, and system solutions.
- Manage the full lifecycle using Salesforce, Easy Order, and SAP, including entering your own orders where possible.
- Proactively follow quotations to secure orders, achieving KPI targets, and maximising contribution on each project through effective pricing, up-selling, and cross-selling.
- Liaise with internal departments to ensure stock availability and production capacity, while maintaining full accuracy between quotations and order processing.
- Produce your own quick win quotations from customer enquiries received via phone and email, interpreting architectural drawings and completing dimensional take-offs.
- Increase and track proactive and follow-up calls, capture and report customer feedback on pricing and market trends.
- Build strong relationships through excellent service and communication, working collaboratively across teams to support overall business objectives.
Requirements:
- Strong technical knowledge of construction products, with cladding systems highly desirable.
- Experience producing quotations and/or estimating from architectural drawings highly desirable but not essential.
- Ability to confidently interpret plans and carry out accurate dimensional take-offs.
- Proven ability to work to KPIs and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to negotiate, influence, and maximise opportunities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a customer-focused approach.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with SAP, Salesforce, or similar systems is advantageous. CAD knowledge would be beneficial but is not essential.
- A proactive, resilient individual who can manage multiple priorities effectively.
