We are seeking a highly regarded senior Quantity Surveying professional to establish and lead a new Cost Management / Quantity Surveying team, focused on servicing private developer clients, primarily within the London market. This is a newly created senior leadership opportunity, designed to build a best-in-class Quantity Surveying offering aligned to commercial and mixed-use development schemes. The role is backed by the infrastructure, brand, and client access of a highly respected global property consultancy.
Sitting within a well-established Project & Development Services platform and reporting directly to the Regional Head of Project & Development Services, the successful candidate will have full responsibility for creating and growing the Quantity Surveying team from inception. This includes team build-out, client engagement, commercial performance, and market positioning.
The role will suit an individual who is deeply embedded in the London development community, with long-standing relationships across private developers, investors, and funds, and a strong track record delivering complex mixed-use commercial schemes. This is a high-profile, externally facing position, acting as a senior ambassador for the Quantity Surveying service, with significant autonomy to shape the team, service offering, and client base. An exceptional remuneration package is available for a candidate with the appropriate market profile and delivery pedigree.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership & Strategy
- Establish and deliver a clear strategy for the Quantity Surveying team aligned to private developer requirements.
- Build and lead a high-performing Cost Management team from inception.
- Shape service offering, operating model, and delivery standards.
- Champion a collaborative, commercially focused culture aligned with wider business objectives.
- Financial Performance
- Full P&L responsibility for the Quantity Surveying business.
- Ownership of budgeting, profitability, billing, and cash collection.
- Drive sustainable, profitable growth through repeat developer appointments.
- Client Development & Growth
- Build, maintain, and expand senior-level relationships with private developers, investors, and funding partners.
- Secure instructions across commercial and mixed-use development projects.
- Work closely with internal sector and service line leaders to cross-sell complementary services.
- Project Delivery & Technical Excellence
- Provide senior oversight on complex development-led schemes, including:
- Large-scale mixed-use developments
- Commercial offices and urban regeneration
- Asset repositioning and adaptive reuse
- Sustainability-led and deep retrofit projects
- Embed best practice, consistency, and innovation across the team.
- Promote the adoption of digital tools, data-led cost planning, and emerging technologies.
- People, Culture & Talent
- Recruit, mentor, and develop Quantity Surveying professionals at all levels.
- Build a strong team culture focused on technical excellence and client service.
- Work with recruitment partners to attract high-calibre commercial talent with developer experience.
- Market Profile & Brand
- Act as a visible senior figure within the London development market.
- Represent the business at industry events, developer forums, and networking platforms.

- MRICS-qualified Quantity Surveyor (essential).
- Proven experience establishing, leading, and growing Quantity Surveying or Cost Management teams.

- Established reputation and network within the London development community.
- Experience gained within a consultancy and/or developer-led environment.
- Strong commercial acumen with P&L ownership experience.
