Our client’s Lease Advisory team is looking to build upon continued success in expanding the team further by recruiting a Lease Consultancy Surveyor – at Director/Partner or Associate level - based out of Oxfordshire. The highly successful Lease Consultancy Team provides a specialist lease advisory service to property owners and occupiers on all types of commercial property.
This is a newly created role, and our client is looking to appoint someone who can partner with the wider Lease Consultancy department, to lead and drive the Oxford team forward. The successful candidate will ideally be working as an Associate or Director/Partner in another consultancy and be looking to take a step up in their next role.
As well as more traditional sectors, the team also acts for some of the leading Scientific organisations, working closely with the local agency teams to provide professional advice on rent reviews, lease renewals and lease re-gears using local up-to-date market knowledge. When required, team members may also act as Expert Witnesses.
This is a strategic hire in the growing Lease Consultancy offering, and candidates are invited who can demonstrate professionalism, entrepreneurial flare and business development skills.
Duties & Responsibilities:- Carry out rent reviews, lease renewals for retained and non-retained clients
- Advise on complex lease re-gears
- Act as an expert witness to arbitrators, independent experts and court
- Provide strategic advice to clients
- Identify and implement opportunities to add value and optimise performance
- Manage clients to the best of your ability
- Build relationships with internal colleagues within the company to develop new business
- Drive business development in Oxford, securing new clients and new instructions where possible
- Keep up to date on professional development, particularly within the Landlord & Tenant specialism
- Provide advice to other teams in the Commercial Department and wider business as appropriate
- Supervise other staff, including graduates and more junior employees
- MRICS qualified
- Experienced in rent review and lease renewal negotiations
- Previous experience working in a similar role with team seniority
- Experienced in making references to third party
- Thorough knowledge of the Landlord & Tenant Act 1954
- Thorough knowledge of the Arbitration Act 1996
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Computer literate with a good level of skill (at least Intermediate level) in Microsoft Excel & Word, and a willingness to learn new computer packages
- Confidence to deal directly with Clients
- Ability to work as part of a larger team
- Good attention to details and work in an organised manner
- Competitive Basic Salary – £60,000 to £80,000 (or more)
