Our work is complex, sensitive and impactful, defending professionals whose careers are at risk and advising regulators on best practice.We\’re looking for a mid-level Associate at (3-5 years PQE) to work with Shannett Thompson and wider partner group, predominantly on matters in the healthcare and education space.The successful candidate will see a broad spectrum of work. It would be advantageous to have healthcare regulation experience – specifically investigations involving the GMC, CQC and NHS England, and knowledge/ experience of advising students in respect of investigations in the independent and higher education sector.About the role:You\’ll be involved in complex investigations cutting across different sectors. The work includes:Handling regulatory investigations involving bodies such as HCPC , GMC , and CQCActing for students in cases of academic or sexual misconductSupporting doctors through MHPS investigationsDrafting skeleton arguments and submissionsWorking on both prosecution and defence sides of regulatory mattersWhat are we looking for:Solid understanding of regulatory decision-making and experience in a professional discipline contextExperience in healthcare and education investigationsAbility to navigate sensitive and high-stakes matters with professionalism and empathyA collaborative mindset and confidence working across teamsAn ability to get up to speed quickly on matters and to shift focus/ direction with competing demands and deadlinesA keen interest to broaden their own knowledge and understandingHonesty, integrity and professionalismWhy KN?This is a fantastic time to join a consistently top voted firm (by Best Companies) at a particularly exciting period of growth.
