We act for a wide range of regulated organisations and individuals, providing expert advice on disciplinary proceedings and investigations. Our work is complex, sensitive and impactful, defending professionals whose careers are at risk and advising regulators on best practice.

We’re looking for a mid-level Associate (3-5 years PQE) to work with Shannett Thompson and the wider partner group, predominantly on matters in the healthcare and education space. The successful candidate will see a broad spectrum of work. It would be advantageous to have healthcare regulation experience – specifically investigations involving the GMC, CQC and NHS England, and knowledge/experience of advising students in respect of investigations in the independent and higher education sector.

About the role:

  • Handling regulatory investigations involving bodies such as HCPC, GMC, and CQC
  • Acting for students in cases of academic or sexual misconduct
  • Supporting doctors through MHPS investigations
  • Drafting skeleton arguments and submissions
  • Working on both prosecution and defence sides of regulatory matters
