About the role

As a Senior Support Worker, you will work as part of the care team, recognizing and facilitating residents’ daily needs, conducting formal supervisions and appraisals, and contributing to care planning and coaching support workers. The role emphasizes high-quality personal care, respecting dignity, and promoting independence.

Kingsley Specialist Services supports people with learning disabilities and complex needs, including those who benefit from a more peaceful living environment.

We deliver care based on the positive behaviour support (PBS) model, which emphasizes person-centered care, promoting choice, independence, participation, and inclusion. This approach empowers individuals to live meaningful and happy lives within adaptable environments.

We aim to understand and respond proactively to residents’ communications and needs, offering alternative behaviours to reduce distress or concerning behaviours. You will role model this approach and support staff in applying PBS in their support for people with learning disabilities and complex needs.

Reports to: Home Manager/Deputy Manager/Nurse

Skills and attributes

  • Previous experience in a senior care role.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Empathetic and caring nature.
  • Full UK Driving Licence is preferred but not essential.

Education and qualification

  • NVQ3 in Health & Social Care or working towards it.
