About the role
New Specialist Service opening Summer 2025. As a Domestic Assistant, you will ensure that public or private spaces within the home are kept neat, tidy, and sanitary. Part of this will be ensuring that all Health & Safety at Work legislation is followed, including all requirements under specific industry Codes of Practice and Environmental Health guidelines.
Reports to: Home Manager/Deputy Manager/Housekeeper
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Cleaning residents’ rooms, communal areas, and bathrooms to required hygiene standards
- Disposing of waste safely and in line with infection control policies
- Reporting maintenance issues or hazards
- Following COSHH and health & safety regulations
- Assisting with deep cleans as required
- Ensuring confidentiality and respecting residents’ privacy
Skills and attributes:
- Good communication skills – confident to talk to residents and your colleagues.
- An awareness of general standards of cleanliness.
- Good attention to detail.
