About the role

Four Oaks Nursing Home is our flagship, purpose-built care home in Partington, Manchester, offering high-quality nursing, dementia and residential care in a calm, luxurious setting. With warm interiors, landscaped gardens and thoughtfully designed amenities including a café, cinema room and sunroom, it provides a welcoming, settled atmosphere throughout.
As Care Home Manager, you will take overall responsibility for how the home runs, from care quality and compliance to occupancy and performance. You will need to be CQC registered and comfortable working within regulation, but the focus is on creating a safe, well-led home where people genuinely feel at ease. You will be fully supported by a dedicated Operations Manager, together with an established on‑site leadership and support team, including the Deputy Manager, nursing team, Administrator, and housekeeping colleagues. This role isn’t for the average manager… it’s for someone ready to take ownership, innovate, and lead a care home to excellence.
Reports to: Operations Manager
Key duties and responsibilities
- Provide leadership and direction to the home’s staff team, promoting a culture of kindness, compassion, and empathy.
- Ensure the home meets all regulatory requirements, including those set by the CQC, and maintain excellent standards of care and support.
- Manage the home’s budget, ensuring financial targets are met and costs are effectively managed.
- Develop and implement a strategic marketing plan to maintain full occupancy and promote the home’s services to potential residents, families, and stakeholders.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, and all stakeholders, responding effectively to their needs and concerns.
Skills and attributes
- Previous experience managing a nursing home.
- A strong working knowledge of CQC standards with a proven record of working towards achieving Outstanding ratings.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain effective working relationships with internal and external professionals, families, and visitors.
- A proven track record of marketing and business skills within the private care sector, running a commercially successful care home.
- Enthusiasm and passion for developing high levels of person-centred care.
- Ability to actively participate in the growth and development of the care service.
Education and qualification
- NMC registered nurse with relevant post-registration experience.
