About the role
As a Gardener, you will make sure the premises and grounds are maintained to a high standard. Your responsibilities include:
- Performing regular checks
- Installing and maintaining seasonal plants
- Mowing, trimming and fertilising green spaces
- Mulching, edging and weeding gardens
- Pruning and trimming trees and bushes
- Maintaining all gardening equipment and machinery, like mowers, trimmers and leaf blowers
- Monitoring and maintaining the health of plants
- Dealing with pest problems that could damage plants
- Keeping gardens and green spaces clear of debris and litter
As the home’s Gardener, you’ll be a valuable member of their friendly, close-knit team, promoting the well-being of the residents and the successful running of the home.

Skills and attributes
- Experience as a Gardener
- Familiarity with landscaping design
- Own transport required
- Extensive knowledge of regional plant life
- Knowledge of local pests and how to eliminate them
- Knowledge of synthetic and natural fertilisers
- Knowledge of state health and safety regulations for landscaping
- The ability to lift heavy objects
- The ability to remain on your feet for long periods of time
