Responsibilities include maintaining the premises and grounds to a high standard, performing regular checks, installing and maintaining seasonal plants, mowing, trimming and fertilizing green spaces, mulching, edging and weeding gardens, pruning and trimming trees and bushes, maintaining gardening equipment and machinery such as mowers, trimmers and leaf blowers, monitoring plant health, dealing with pest problems, and keeping gardens and green spaces clear of debris and litter.
As the home's Gardener, you will be a valuable member of the friendly, close-knit team, promoting the well-being of the residents and the successful running of the home.
Reports to: Home Manager/Asset Manager.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Experience as a Gardener
- Familiarity with landscaping design
- Own transport required
- Extensive knowledge of regional plant life
- Knowledge of local pests and how to eliminate them
- Knowledge of synthetic and natural fertilizers
- Knowledge of state health and safety regulations for landscaping
- Ability to lift heavy objects
- Ability to remain on your feet for long periods of time
