Kingsley Hard Metals is recruiting for an ambitious and self-motivated Quantity Surveyor to join a growing Building Envelopes Contractor. Projects are delivered nationwide across multiple sectors including residential, commercial, healthcare, and education. This role joins a small but expanding team as they continue with their growth ambitions across the UK.

Being directly involved in the full lifecycle from award to final account, the successful candidate will have broad and diverse responsibilities, appreciating the need for flexibility in order to attend sites to both support senior members of the team and build strong and long-term client relationships.

The Role

  • Quantity Surveying / Commercial Support
    • Support senior commercial staff in the management of projects from award through to final account
    • Assist in the preparation of monthly valuations and applications for payment
    • Monitor, assess, and track variations, ensuring accurate records are maintained
    • Attend site as required to review progress, measure works, and support reporting
    • Maintain subcontractor orders, payment trackers, budgets, and cost records
    • Assist with general commercial administration across assigned projects
    • Support project teams with procurement, order placement, and value engineering options
    • Build and maintain strong client relationships to support future opportunities
  • Estimating
    • Support preparation for and attendance at estimating meetings, providing updates on live tenders
    • Carry out take-offs and measurements from drawings to produce accurate material quantities
    • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing and technical input
    • Assist in the preparation of cost estimates alongside senior estimators
    • Attend site visits as required to support surveys and tender preparation

Employment Details

  • Salary - Dependent upon experience
  • Annual leave entitlement of 25 days plus bank holidays
  • Start date: As soon as possible
  • Working hours: Typically Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm (flexibility required)

  • Personal attributes
    • Hold strong technological abilities – comfortable with digital take-off, QA & reporting software
    • Be flexible and support other team members as required
    • Be self-motivated and enthusiastic to grow and develop
    • Be a strong communicator in all interactions
    • Enjoy a challenge with a ‘hands on’ approach
  • Experience
    • Will have a minimum 3-years or equivalent experience in any of the following disciplines:
      • Rainscreen cladding
      • Cladding remediation works
      • Traditional Hard Metal Roofing & Facades (Zinc, copper, aluminium etc.)
      • Principal Contractor QS for façade projects
      • Client side PQS for cladding remediation projects

Location

Predominantly remote working with regular travel to project sites & offices required. Based in either the North-West, Midlands, or East Anglia.
