We have an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Regulatory & Compliance professional to take ownership of the regulatory and compliance strategy and frameworks for our clients growing Telecommunications business. This role is broad in scope allowing you to work across compliance, regulation, policy and public affairs with a view to supporting the ongoing growth of the Telco side of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead on Telecom regulatory and compliance strategy, working closely with the Telecoms Director, General Counsel, and the telecoms leadership team to deliver business-focused, strategic guidance that ensures regulatory alignment and supports exceptional customer experiences.
- Design and manage a robust second-line regulatory and compliance framework, collaborating with internal regulatory, legal, and compliance teams.
- You’ll be responsible for regulatory compliance oversight, quality assurance, and annual reporting to the Group Audit & Risk Committee.
- Provide clear, practical guidance and support to stakeholders across the business to embed a proactive compliance culture and regulatory awareness throughout the organization.
- Act as the primary liaison with Ofcom, government departments, and key industry bodies—representing the company's point of view and managing relationships to support strategic objectives.
- Lead the preparation and management of mandatory audits under Ofcom’s Metering & Billing Direction, ensuring all regulatory standards and obligations are met.
Skills Required:
- Significant experience in telecommunications compliance and a strong working knowledge of UK telecom regulations, with a track record of engaging directly with Ofcom and other regulatory bodies.
- Experience building and operating effective regulatory compliance frameworks in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
- A strategic thinker with an eye for operational detail, capable of balancing business needs with regulatory requirements.
- Experience in audit management and regulatory reporting.
