Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and commercially astute Senior Legal Counsel to join the Legal function within the Technology and Transformation team. This is a key role within the Customer Transformation team, which sits under the broader Technology & Transformation division. The successful candidate will report into the Head of Legal for the Customer team and work closely with senior stakeholders across the business, including Technology, Product, and Commercial functions.
This opportunity arises due to a team reshaping, as part of an ongoing transformation journey that reflects the evolving nature of our business and the technological landscape. The role is central to ensuring continued legal support for complex, high-value, and fast-paced projects.
Role Responsibilities:
- Advise on a broad range of complex commercial contracts and technology-driven initiatives.
- Provide legal support across B2B and B2C arrangements, including strategic partnerships, licensing, and service agreements.
- Support on regulatory compliance matters, particularly those relevant to technology and digital services.
- Engage proactively with stakeholders across Technology, Product, and Operations to understand and anticipate legal and commercial risks.
- Work closely with the internal Data Protection team to support data-related matters, without requiring privacy specialist expertise.
- Lead and support transformation-driven legal workstreams, aligning legal strategy with business priorities.
Candidate Profile:
- Qualified lawyer with 5–8 years post-qualification experience (PQE), ideally with training from a top-tier law firm and subsequent in-house experience.
- Strong background in commercial and technology law, with an ability to handle complex projects under tight deadlines.
- Experience working in both B2B and B2C environments, preferably within regulated or tech-driven sectors.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a collaborative and proactive approach.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a supportive and high-performing legal team.
- Robust and resilient, with a commercial mindset and a practical approach to legal risk.
Desirable:
- Experience or familiarity with data protection issues as they relate to technology projects.
- A track record of working in fast-moving or high-growth environments undergoing transformation.
