Our client, a global fintech is looking to appoint an experienced Products Lawyer to support its UK product portfolio. This role sits within a specialist legal team embedded in the product organisation and plays a key role in enabling the development and delivery of regulated financial products.
You will work alongside product managers, engineers, compliance professionals, and commercial teams to provide practical legal guidance that supports innovation while meeting regulatory standards. The role offers significant exposure to complex product design questions in a fast-evolving consumer finance and payments environment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide legal support on the development and roll-out of UK-based consumer payment solutions, credit offerings, and electronic money products.
- Act as a trusted legal partner to product and engineering teams, helping shape customer journeys, contractual terms, and disclosures in line with regulatory expectations.
- Advise on the application of UK financial services legislation and regulation, including FSMA, the Consumer Credit Act, the regulatory framework for BNPL, the Payment Services Regulations, the Electronic Money Regulations, and associated FCA guidance.
- Embed Consumer Duty requirements into product design, with particular focus on customer understanding, fair value, and customer outcomes.
- Review and advise on financial promotions and other customer-facing communications under the FCA Handbook.
- Track regulatory change in the UK market and assess its impact on both new initiatives and existing products.
- Coordinate with international legal, compliance, and risk teams to promote consistency and scalability across jurisdictions.
- Support the development of internal frameworks, policies, and processes that enable efficient and compliant product delivery.
- UK qualified Solicitor
- Demonstrable experience advising on fintech or regulated financial products, either in private practice or in-house.
- Strong working knowledge of UK consumer credit, payments, banking, and/or e-money regimes.
- Practical understanding of the Consumer Duty, financial promotions regime, and the FCA Handbook.
- Confident engaging with non-legal stakeholders and translating regulatory requirements into workable product solutions.
- Experience supporting consumer-facing products within a regulated and fast-paced environment.
- Commercial, solutions-focused, and able to exercise sound judgment when balancing legal risk and business priorities.
- Collaborative and comfortable working across functions in an international, product-led business.
