We’re working on an excellent senior opportunity for a seasoned deals/commercial Counsel to join a leading technology and services organisation. This is a role designed for an individual with a rare blend of deep infrastructure expertise and strong commercial contracting skills, ideally complemented by financial services knowledge, but not essential.
This is a UK based remote opportunity where you will join a top tier legal team who fully embrace the remote way of working but who also like to come together for meet ups in the UK whether that be team away days, charity walks or working together days, every so often.
You will join the newly created Software Services Group (SSG) within this prestigious global technology business. This team are innovative, fun and leaders in technology – no day is the same!
The Role
This position will suit someone who thrives on variety, visibility, and responsibility. At its core, the role involves negotiating and structuring high-value outsourcing, managed services, and cloud infrastructure agreements (often exceeding £150m) with leading global consultancies and technology providers. It combines expertise in servers, data centres, hyper-cloud, and storage, with the ability to understand and advise on the financing aspects of large-scale hardware/software deals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead on large-scale outsourcing, managed services, and infrastructure deals (£150m+)
- Advise on hardware/software sales and financing structures
- Partner with business leaders on new service development and delivery models
- Provide pragmatic, commercially focused legal guidance to senior stakeholders
- Manage and develop contract managers, fostering visibility and collaboration
- Support cross-border transactions, primarily across EMEA with some APAC involvement
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified commercial contracts lawyer with strong infrastructure and cloud background, based in the UK but happy to be remote with meetings from time to time
- Proven experience in large-scale outsourcing and managed services transactions
- Strong understanding of financing mechanisms for technology deals (bonus)
- Skilled negotiator with experience in high-value, complex contracts
- Collaborative leader with experience managing and developing teams
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to balance legal risk and commercial goals
This is a unique opportunity for someone who combines legal, technical, and financial expertise, and who enjoys operating at the intersection of law, business, and innovation. It’s an ideal fit for a lawyer ready to take ownership of complex, transformative deals while shaping the way a high-growth organisation manages its commercial contracting function.
