We're excited to be partnering on a newly created opportunity for a Commercial Counsel, Legal Automation to join a scaling, mission-led technology business in London. This is an opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer who enjoys being close to the business, leading sophisticated commercial negotiations, and helping build smarter legal infrastructure through automation and process design.
This role sits at the intersection of commercial contracting and legal innovation — ideal for someone who wants to combine excellent legal judgement with a genuine interest in how technology, AI and automation can transform legal delivery.
The Role
This position is split approximately 50% commercial deal execution / 50% legal automation and process improvement. You'll take ownership of a portfolio of enterprise customer contracts across the UK and EMEA while also helping shape how the legal team operates at scale - converting negotiation insight into better templates, workflows, playbooks and automated processes. Working closely with Sales, Product, Legal Operations and wider business stakeholders, you'll play a visible role in helping the organisation continue to grow efficiently while maintaining a thoughtful approach to risk and governance.
What We're Looking For:
- Qualified solicitor (England & Wales) with 6-10 PQE in commercial law
- Significant exposure to enterprise SaaS contracting, technology agreements and complex B2B transactions
- Strong working knowledge of legal technology, automation and AI-enabled ways of working
- Experience with CLM platforms and legal process optimisation is highly advantageous
- Commercially pragmatic with excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
This is a particularly exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys building as much as advising — combining hands-on commercial legal work with the chance to help shape what a modern, technology-enabled legal function looks like. Alongside the legal work, you'll join a collaborative, ambitious and values-led environment that encourages experimentation, innovation and continuous development. This is a hybrid role based in central London (3 days in the office).
