The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

This role delivers broad commercial legal support across the business and plays a key part in executing the legal strategy. The Legal Counsel will advise on high-value commercial contracts, regulatory and compliance matters, data protection, competition and employment law, marketing standards, intellectual property and disputes. This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days in the office. It is ideally a full-time role, but they will consider 4 days for the right person!

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the drafting and negotiation of complex commercial and strategic agreements.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, providing clear, commercial legal guidance.
  • Support product launches, campaigns and new commercial models by identifying risk and ensuring compliance.
  • Advise on data protection, advertising and marketing rules and wider regulatory requirements.
  • Manage disputes and contentious matters, including resolution strategy.
  • Lead implementation of new legislation and regulatory change.
  • Deliver legal training and share legal know-how.
  • Support and develop junior team members.
  • Monitor legal developments and emerging risks.
  • Support IP matters, including trademarks and licensing.
Skills required:
  • Qualified solicitor with experience from private practice or an established in-house team.
  • Strong commercial and consumer law expertise, ideally within a B2C, retail or eCommerce environment.
  • Commercially focused with sound judgement and the ability to deliver clear, practical advice.
  • Confident communicator, able to influence stakeholders and work collaboratively across the business.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment, managing multiple priorities.
  • Proactive problem-solver who supports junior team development and embraces innovative approaches, including the use of AI.
