Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a range of commercial agreements (including software licensing, SaaS, NDAs, partnership and procurement agreements).
- Provide legal support on corporate matters, including share purchase agreements, company structuring, and due diligence during M&A activity.
- Advise on IP, data protection (GDPR), and technology-related legal issues.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders including IT, product, marketing, and compliance teams.
- Help design and improve legal workflows using tech tools (e.g. contract management systems, collaboration platforms).
- Assist with policy drafting, training, and delivering legal updates to non-legal stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks across multiple jurisdictions (including UK and EU data privacy standards).
Requirements:
- Qualified solicitor in England & Wales (or equivalent), with at least 7+ years’ PQE in corporate and commercial law.
- Previous in-house legal experience preferred, especially within the technology or innovation sector.
- Strong understanding of IP, data protection, and commercial tech agreements (e.g. SaaS, software licensing).
- Confident in advising senior stakeholders and managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfortable working remotely, using collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams, DocuSign, and contract lifecycle management platforms.
- Experience working on M&A transactions and due diligence processes is highly desirable.
- A proactive, solutions-oriented approach with excellent communication skills.
