Our client, a globally recognised organisation with a highly respected and established brand, is seeking an experienced Company Secretary to join on an interim basis to provide cover for a key leadership role. This is a broad, hands-on opportunity offering exposure to a wide range of governance activities, including PLC obligations, subsidiary governance and strategic projects. The successful candidate will be comfortable balancing strategic input with operational delivery in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day leadership of the governance function, including management of three junior team members.
- Oversee subsidiary governance across the group, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and maintaining high standards of corporate governance.
- Support share plan activity where required.
- Advise on governance matters and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
- Maintain and enhance PLC governance standards in line with best practice and regulatory expectations.
- Support governance workstreams associated with IPO readiness and listed company obligations.
- Provide pragmatic, commercially focused governance advice to senior stakeholders.
- Support the effective operation of Board and Committee processes.
About You
- Available to start immediately.
- Extensive governance experience within a PLC environment.
- Must have prior IPO experience, including exposure to IPO readiness, listing requirements and public company governance frameworks.
- Strong understanding of corporate governance frameworks and regulatory requirements.
- Adaptable and able to manage a varied and changing workload.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment.
- Confident communicator with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
- Previous experience managing or mentoring junior team members.
