Job Description
We are working with a fast-growing Fintech business in their search for an experienced Consumer Regulatory Lawyer to advise on payments and consumer credit matters. This role will be central in ensuring all products are compliant with UK, EU, and international regulatory frameworks, while enabling innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on UK and EU consumer financial regulations, including the Consumer Credit Act (CCA), PSD2, and CCD2.
- Provide guidance on payments law, licensing, and related compliance obligations.
- Support product teams in structuring and launching new offerings while managing regulatory risk.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments impacting payments and consumer credit.
- Draft and review customer-facing disclosures, terms, and policies.
- Support compliance with data protection/privacy laws and liaise with regulators when required.
Qualifications
- Qualified lawyer with 2-5 years of post-qualification experience.
- Background in financial services, fintech, or a regulatory agency either straight from private practice or in-house.
- Strong knowledge of consumer credit, payments regulation, and related legal frameworks.
- Experience with PSD2, CCD2, and data protection advantageous.
- Commercial mindset and ability to translate complex regulation into practical guidance.
