Our client, a global leader in their field, is looking for a Global Head of Privacy (Compliance) to join their team on a permanent basis.
The organisation is at an exciting juncture in their growth story and as a result, they are looking for a lawyer with a background in Privacy to support them on their journey.
The role reports into the Chief Compliance Officer who is hugely inspirational, and they are looking for someone to work in partnership with them – helping to build out a best in class privacy function both in the UK and internationally.
The role will involve having responsibility for the global vision and execution of our client’s privacy and data protection agenda, ensuring that their business meets all regulatory obligations while driving innovation and marketing growth. The role plays a pivotal part in balancing compliance with opportunity, managing privacy risk, promoting responsible data practices, and enabling value creation through ethical and compliant data use.
Working across the business, this leader will embed privacy principles into their culture, processes, and strategic decision-making.
Primary Responsibilities will include:
- Delivering on a large-scale, multi-country programme design, to strengthen and harmonise privacy compliance across 19 markets
- Develop and implement a proactive, business-focused global privacy strategy aligned with long-term growth objectives
- Establish and maintain a global governance framework that provides visibility, accountability, and effective oversight of privacy issues
- Collaborate with the Digital, Marketing and IT teams to design compliant solutions for data collection, consent, cookie management, retention, and responsible use, with a strong focus on digital marketing, AdTech, and customer data platforms
- Tracking emerging privacy laws and regulations globally and guiding the organisation’s response to new or evolving requirements
To be considered for the role you should:
- Be a qualified lawyer experienced in privacy and data protection matters on an international scale
- Have significant experience in digital marketing, AdTech, and consumer data
- Have experience of managing a team
- Be able to demonstrate your ability to provide commercially sound and pragmatic advice within complex, fast-moving organisations
- Have proven experience in effective cross-functional leadership, stakeholder engagement, and influencing on an international scale
