This opportunity is to join a growing business in a central in‑house role, providing day‑to‑day legal support across a wide range of commercial and regulatory matters. The Legal Counsel will be closely involved in supporting business activity and helping to deliver the organisation’s wider legal and risk strategy.
The role covers a broad remit, including complex commercial agreements, regulatory and compliance issues, data protection, competition and employment matters, advertising and marketing compliance, intellectual property and contentious work. The position is offered on a hybrid basis with three days per week in the North London office.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Taking ownership of negotiating and drafting high‑value and strategically important commercial contracts.
- Partnering with senior leaders and key teams as a trusted legal sounding board.
- Providing guidance on data protection, advertising standards, marketing rules and wider regulatory obligations.
- Managing disputes and contentious issues, including strategy and resolution.
- Leading the business through legislative and regulatory change.
- Mentoring and supporting junior members of the legal team.
- Tracking legal developments and emerging risks relevant to the business.
About You
- Qualified solicitor (6-8 years PQE) with experience gained in private practice or a well‑established in‑house function.
- Previous experience working in a B2C environment highly advantageous.
- Commercially minded with strong judgement and the ability to give practical, solution‑focused advice.
- Effective communicator, comfortable influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- Thrives in a fast‑moving, high‑growth environment and can manage competing priorities.
