The function plays a critical role in supporting long-term business growth by managing strategic relationships, protecting shareholder value and ensuring robust governance across a diverse portfolio of international entities. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced governance professional to join the organisation on a contract basis with the potential to go permanent. This position will lead governance activities across the division, ensuring that appropriate governance, risk and compliance frameworks are in place to support effective oversight and decision-making.

Working closely with executive leadership, Board members and senior stakeholders, the successful candidate will provide strategic governance advice, oversee company secretarial activities and help strengthen governance practices across a complex international portfolio.

  • Lead the development, implementation and ongoing enhancement of governance arrangements across the Investments division and its portfolio of subsidiaries, investments and joint ventures.
  • Partner with Legal, Risk, Compliance and Internal Audit teams to develop and enhance the Investments division's governance, risk and control framework.
  • Support the implementation of risk management and compliance initiatives across the Investments business.
  • Drive improvements to governance policies, processes and controls to ensure they remain fit for purpose and aligned with evolving business needs.
  • Provide Company Secretarial support to designated legal entities, including organising Board and Committee meetings, preparing agendas and papers, recording minutes and ensuring timely completion of governance actions.
  • Promote a culture of strong governance, accountability and effective risk management throughout the Investments division.

Qualified Company Secretary. Immediately available or available to start at short notice. Proven ability to build credibility with senior stakeholders and influence decision-making at Board and executive level. Sound understanding of enterprise risk management, governance and assurance practices. The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with commercial awareness and sound judgement.
