We are looking for a seasoned Senior Legal Counsel to join a high-energy, consumer-focused organisation within the retail/FMCG sector. This is a senior, hands-on role supporting a commercially driven business, partnering closely with executive leaders to provide clear, practical, and commercially minded legal advice.
Experience in retail or FMCG is highly desirable, along with a demonstrated ability to work at speed, juggle competing priorities, and thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Serve as a trusted legal advisor to senior leadership and key stakeholders across the business
- Deliver day-to-day legal support across a wide range of commercial matters, including:
- Commercial agreements such as supplier, customer, distribution, logistics, marketing, and SaaS contracts
- Consumer law, advertising, promotions, and product claims
- Regulatory compliance relevant to retail and FMCG operations
- Qualified lawyer with 7β10 yearsβ PQE (or equivalent experience)
- Strong experience in retail, FMCG, or another consumer-facing business (in-house experience preferred)
- Advanced commercial contracting and negotiation capabilities
- Solid knowledge of consumer law and advertising/marketing regulations
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and distil complex legal issues into clear advice
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment and available for an immediate start
- Practical, solutions-driven approach with a high level of attention to detail
