A mission-driven, high-growth health-tech company is seeking its first Head of Legal & Governance to partner directly with the CEO at a pivotal stage of scale. The organisation is transforming dementia care through a more human, personalised and technology-enabled model, and is preparing for Series A investment with plans to expand across the UK and internationally.
This is a broad, high-impact role for a commercially minded lawyer who thrives in a scale-up environment and enjoys building structure from the ground up. You will lead UK and US commercial contracting, support strategic partnerships, and coordinate external counsel across multiple jurisdictions.
Acting as Data Protection Officer, you will oversee GDPR and HIPAA compliance, guide information governance strategy, and work closely with product teams on data matters. The remit also includes regulatory oversight, board and investor governance, risk and compliance management, ownership of employee and contractor contracts and HR policies, and oversight of insurance and key external providers.
The successful candidate will bring 5+ years’ relevant legal experience, ideally within a startup or scaling business, and be confident operating autonomously across commercial, regulatory and governance matters. This is a remote role with travel for key meetings, offering significant board exposure, cross-functional influence and the opportunity to shape the legal foundations of a purpose-led organisation improving outcomes for people living with dementia and their families.
