Kingsley Bond Solicitors is looking for a senior defendant RTA & Credit Hire specialist to build and lead a dedicated insurer-facing practice. This is a senior, strategic role for someone who wants autonomy, the ability to shape a team around them, and a direct line into insurer and broker relationships.
The Firm Kingsley Bond is a modern, full-service law firm that combines traditional legal values with a forward-looking approach to practice. Our lawyers work across a broad range of contentious and non-contentious matters, with a strong focus on clear, commercially attuned advice for both individuals and businesses. Within our insurance offering, we are now investing in a dedicated defendant RTA and Credit Hire capability.
The Opportunity You will:
- Lead and build a defendant RTA & Credit Hire team within Kingsley Bond.
- Manage and develop relationships with insurers, reinsurers, brokers and loss adjusters.
- Own and run a caseload of litigated and pre-litigated defendant RTA and credit hire matters.
- Shape strategy and process, including workflows, MI, and best practice for insurer clients.
- Play a key role in developing panel relationships and deepening existing insurer instructions.
- Help define the longer-term growth plan, including future hires and team structure.
This is an opportunity to build something, backed by an established, SRA-regulated firm and modern infrastructure.
About You You will likely be:
- A Senior Solicitor / Associate / Legal Director with c. 5+ years’ PQE in defendant RTA and/or credit hire litigation.
- Experienced across Small, Fast, Intermediate and (ideally) Multi-track claims.
- Comfortable with insurer-facing work, including panel instructions and commercial expectations.
- Confident leading on strategy, supervision and process, not just fee-earning.
- Commercially minded, with the credibility to speak insurers’ language and the discipline to deliver on SLAs and KPIs.
- Interested in building and leading a team rather than simply inheriting one.
- Existing relationships with insurers, brokers or loss adjusters will be a significant advantage.
Hybrid working, with regular access to London. South East–based is ideal, but we are open to strong candidates elsewhere in the UK. For the right person, we are prepared to build a team around you and, if commercially justified, explore establishing a hub. The underlying structure offers a high degree of autonomy and flexibility, while still being fully supported by Kingsley Bond’s central platform and infrastructure.
Package Competitive package with performance-related incentives. Clear scope to increase earnings in line with growth of the practice and insurer relationships. Support from an established firm with modern systems, marketing, and operational support.
