An outstanding opportunity to join a high-growth fintech payments division within a global payments organisation. This role sits at the forefront of expansion and will play a critical part in driving revenue growth across the Financial Institutions and Non-Bank Financial Institutions (FI/NBFI) segment.
Our client is seeking an experienced and commercially driven sales leader to manage and develop a team of Business Development Executives focused on PSPs, neo-banks, and other regulated financial institutions. The successful candidate will combine strategic leadership with hands-on execution, bringing deep expertise in FX, payments, and the broader FI landscape.
Key Responsibilities:- Sales Strategy & Leadership: Develop and execute a targeted sales strategy for the FI/NBFI market in the UK. Conduct ongoing analysis of market trends, competitor activity, and evolving client needs to refine commercial positioning. Own sales forecasting and pipeline management to ensure consistent delivery against ambitious growth targets.
- Client Acquisition & Commercial Execution: Lead new business origination across regulated financial institutions, identifying high-value opportunities and developing tailored solutions. Drive a consultative, solution-led sales approach focused on FX and international payments. Support the team in articulating value propositions clearly and effectively to senior decision-makers.
- Sales Operations & Performance Management: Ensure disciplined CRM usage and accurate pipeline reporting. Deliver structured performance reporting to senior leadership, including insight-driven recommendations. Manage workload distribution, recruitment, and performance optimisation within the team.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Marketing, Product, Compliance, and Operations to ensure alignment between sales activity and broader organisational objectives. Maintain clear communication of product updates, regulatory changes, and market developments that may impact sales activity.
- Compliance & Risk Governance: Ensure all sales activity adheres to regulatory requirements and internal policy frameworks relevant to financial services. Promote a strong culture of compliance and responsible selling.
- Product & Market Expertise: Maintain advanced knowledge of FX, international payments, and hedging solutions. Ensure the team remains well-trained and confident across product features, benefits, and differentiators.
- Business Expansion & Partnerships: Identify and develop strategic partnerships to expand reach within FI/NBFI segments, particularly within the CFD and trading vertical. Support UK market expansion initiatives, identifying new customer segments and growth channels.
- Budget & Commercial Discipline: Manage sales budget allocation to maximise return on investment. Monitor sales-related expenditure to ensure sustainable and profitable growth.
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Establish feedback loops from clients and team members to enhance product offerings and sales processes. Encourage innovation in go-to-market strategy to maintain competitive advantage.
- Team Leadership & Development: Set clear KPIs and performance metrics, ensuring the team has the tools, training, and structure required to succeed. Conduct regular 1:1s and performance reviews to provide clarity, accountability, and coaching. Foster a high-performance culture where success is recognised and professional development is actively supported. Promote an engaged, inclusive, and results-oriented team environment.
