About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and motivated

Residential Conveyancing Paralegal to join our team.

The successful candidate will have practical experience working within a residential conveyancing department and will be confident supporting the progression of property transactions from initial instruction through to exchange and completion.

This role would suit someone who has developed a good working knowledge of the residential conveyancing process and is looking to continue building their experience within a busy and supportive legal environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with a busy caseload of residential property transactions.
  • Supporting the progression of freehold and leasehold sales and purchases .
  • Reviewing and assisting with title documentation.
  • Ordering, reviewing and dealing with property searches.
  • Raising and responding to enquiries.
  • Reviewing and dealing with mortgage offers and related lender requirements.
  • Preparing matters for exchange and completion.
  • Assisting with the coordination of exchanges and completions.
  • Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders, solicitors and other third parties throughout transactions.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and ensuring matters progress efficiently.
  • Identifying issues within transactions and escalating matters where appropriate.
  • Providing general support to the conveyancing team and fee earners as required.

About You

We are specifically looking for candidates with hands-on residential conveyancing experience . This is not intended as a first legal role for a graduate or someone without practical exposure to conveyancing.

Ideally, you will

  • Have previous experience working within a residential conveyancing department .
  • Have practical experience progressing residential sales and purchases.
  • Understand the conveyancing process from instruction through to completion.
  • Have experience with both freehold and leasehold transactions .
  • Be familiar with title documents, searches, enquiries and mortgage offers.
  • Understand the processes involved in exchange and completion.
  • Be able to manage and prioritise tasks within a busy caseload.
  • Have good attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Communicate confidently and professionally with clients and third parties.
  • Be able to work with a reasonable degree of independence while knowing when to seek guidance.

Experience & Qualifications

Relevant practical experience is the key requirement for this position. You do not necessarily need to be fully qualified , and we are happy to consider candidates who are still developing their career.

However, candidates should be able to demonstrate genuine, practical experience within residential conveyancing rather than purely academic, graduate or general legal-administrative experience.
