Our client is a well-established commercial law firm based in Henley-on-Thames, with almost 25 years’ experience providing high-quality legal services to a diverse client base. The firm has a close-knit team of 8 professionals and is known for its collaborative culture, supportive working environment and commitment to flexible, hybrid working.

The Role

Due to continued growth, our client is seeking to recruit 2–4 Qualified Litigation Assistants to join their expanding litigation team. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced litigation professionals with strong knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) who are looking to progress their career within a reputable and supportive firm. The successful candidates will play a key role in supporting partners and senior solicitors, while working on a varied and engaging commercial litigation caseload.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with the management of a varied commercial litigation caseload
  • Drafting legal documents including statements of claim, witness statements and legal correspondence
  • Preparing evidence bundles and maintaining accurate and up-to-date case files
  • Managing court filings and ensuring strict compliance with CPR rules and deadlines
  • Liaising with clients, counsel and third parties, providing clear and professional updates
  • Conducting legal research and preparing case summaries
  • Supporting the preparation for hearings and trials

The Person

Essential:

  • Qualified as a Litigation Assistant (CILEx, Paralegal or equivalent)
  • Strong working knowledge and practical experience of the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR)
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience within commercial litigation
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proactive, team-oriented approach

Desirable:

  • Previous experience within a commercial law firm or similar litigation environment
